First shave in 3 days this morning and it felt good to finally whack all those whiskers! I had the Soap Commander Resolution arrive yesterday, but for some reason the NSS was calling to me.
Second try of the Strop Shoppe special edition shaving soap loaned to me by a shaving buddy. It lathers easily but I just don’t find the lather explodes into a thick rich lather like some of my other soaps I have used recently.

New Forest 1901 2 band
Wet Shaving Products Mahogany soap
Schick Dial with Personna blade (2)
Taylor of Old Bond Street Victorian Limes Aftershave
Truefitt & Hill No 10 moisturiser
Second time using this soap from WSP, the mahogany is an unusual scent but I quite like it. After two uses I think this is going to be a good soap to keep in the stash. I want to try the Barbershop scent which I hear is very nice.
I usually start lathering with a damp brush but after reading a few posts about starting with a wet brush I thought I’d give this a try. Wet brush swirling lightly on the soap for about 60 seconds and then took it to the face to lather up. The result, tonnes of lather which was super slick and thick.
The New Forest brush is only a 19mm knot but held a tonne of lather for three passes, and I could have got a few more passes if I needed to.
Three passes later and the results seem closer than normal, and post shave skin feel was good.
Finished off with a splash of the TOBS Limes aftershave and all was good. I find the TOBS aftershaves leave a nice feel to the skin after use almost talcy.
I don’t use balms that often but as the weather is so cold at the moment I used a small amount of the No 10 moisturiser a few hours after the shave.
I got this soap from a fellow forum member, but I have seen they are available from The Shaving Time Company which save importing from the USA. I’ll no doubt pick up the Barbershop scent in the future from them.
